Healthcare and Public options

All I seem to see portrayed to the public about health care appears to make it seem as though the idea of a Government option is a socialistic nightmare waiting to happen. Why is it then I do not see the receiver's of Medicare up in arms about this? I do not hear about the current shortages of patients' receiving care, or doctors not being paid, or delays in reimbursements to ancillary staff. In fact, the medicare patient is largely the one I see not stressed out about going for annual exams, co pays, and having medical procedures.

Medical reimbursement and the relationship between provider and insurance company is the most twisted relationship next to the legal system. Where else can one come into a place of business, obtain product or services, leave, pay nothing and then three months later have a independent agency determine what is the value of that said product or service?

Would you expect an attorney to discontinue billing you when you ran out of money?

After all is said and done, it comes down to cash. Insurance companies make billions from the business of misery medicene. The executives of these companies are looking out for the interest of the stockholder before they are concerned with care and well being of clients. That makes good business sense. . They bootstrap physicians into accepting sub standard reimbursement.

The threat of a public option is an opportunity to scare the uniformed into submission and line the pockets of those who own the information.
